Ask the Plaintiffs: Held v State of Montana Q&A

Day 2: Photo of plaintiffs entering the courthouse

On Wednesday, June 21 from 7-8pm, plaintiffs and an attorney from the historic Held v. State of Montana youth-led climate lawsuit will join a live Zoom call to answer questions and share their experiences with peers and supporters across the state. All are welcome to attend and submit questions for plaintiffs, and we warmly invite fellow young people who want to learn more about what it’s like to be a youth plaintiff and how to get involved in climate action as a young person. This is a great opportunity to hear directly from the plaintiffs about what it’s like to participate in the FIRST youth-led and the FIRST constitutional climate lawsuit to go to trial in the nation!

Co-hosted by Our Children’s Trust, Families for a Livable Climate, Forward Montana, Gallatin Valley Sunrise, and Moms Clean Air Force.

ABOUT HELD V STATE OF MONTANA:

Held v. State of Montana is a constitutional climate lawsuit brought by 16 Montana youth against their State to protect their equal rights to a healthy environment, life, dignity, and freedom. They are suing because their government is continuing to promote and support fossil fuel extraction and burning, which is worsening the climate crisis and harming these youths’ lives. This is the FIRST-EVER constitutional climate trial in the U.S.--led by Montana youth! Learn more and find ways to get involved here.
