When I grow up…

We are Montana families. Protecting our kids and safeguarding their future is our top priority.

After yet another “hottest year on record,” it’s clear: Our kids and grand kids need us to act now. Later is too late.

Join our growing movement of 2,000+ climate-concerned Montanans. Together we can ensure that every family has a role in shaping a safe and thriving world. Together we can give our kids the future they are dreaming of.

Ways to give

Become a monthly donor

Monthly donations provide ongoing support to our network of emerging climate leaders. These donations are key in transforming parental concerns into real climate solutions.

Through our donation page make a gift and select the ‘monthly’ option. If you need assistance in setting this up please contact us at director@livableclimate.org.

Donate from your IRA

Folks who are 70 ½ years or older can contribute up to $100,000 from their IRA and avoid paying income taxes on the distribution. This is known as a qualified charitable distribution. It is limited to IRAs, and there are other exclusions and considerations as well. Contact your financial planner to start this process and make a donation through your IRA.

Highlights from our current impact

Relationship- and skill-building workshops:

Families who have participated in our Decarbonize Your Money workshops have divested over $17 million dollars from fossil fuels.

Training & support for future climate leaders:

Our network of 20+ emerging climate leaders spearhead events, lead legislative actions, advance local climate action, and bring decision-makers into the climate conversation.

Public engagement:

Every year, we engage with 2,000+ Montanans through events, projects, and outreach campaigns.

Climate storytelling and conversations:

Over 125 Montanans from across the state have shared their personal experiences with climate impacts and solutions through our MT Climate Stories project, and our team has hosted 5 live storytelling events across the state. We’ve also distributed thousands of copies of our magazine, The Changing Times, across 18 Montana communities.

Advocacy & coalition building:

We convened and led a coalition of 17 Montana-based organizations to bring over 300 people to the capitol for Montana’s first Climate Advocacy Day in 2023, and now are preparing for 2025. We also lead Electrify Montana, a coalition of 30 organizations across 12 statewide communities working to accelerate electrification in Montana.
