Change begins with ordinary people and the stories they tell about the future.
The Butte Climate Stories is a part of our larger Montana Climate Stories project where ordinary citizens from all over the state have shared stories about how climate has personally impacted their lives and what actions they are taking to create a livable future for their families and communities. All Montana families need a livable climate and thriving environment to ensure a bright and secure future. We also need good jobs, healthcare, and equitable access to education and other opportunities. These stories reflect these shared needs.
July 15th | Montana Traditions Stage | Montana Folk Festival | 3 - 4pm
Butte-Silver Bow, the National Center for Appropriate Technology, and Montana Technological University are partnering to develop a community resilience plan aimed at boosting local business development, growing green energy, and protecting our community and its natural resources from the impacts of a changing climate. Together, creating a resilient Butte means we’re preparing for a bright future. A resilient Butte means we have the tools to weather the economic, health, and environmental impacts of climate disruption.
Festival-goers are encouraged to stop by the booth and share their personal climate story before and after the event!

The theme for the Montana Folk Festival focuses on the attributes and qualities of life in Montana. These qualities have aptly been labeled folklife, where the land and the people of Montana are showcased for your enjoyment.
