Speakers
Megan J. Wolff, Ph.D., MPH, Beyond Plastics Policy Director
Megan is a public health historian with an eye to using history to inform policy. After receiving her masters and doctorate in public health from Columbia University, she spent over a decade at Weill Cornell Medical College, where she developed a mental health policy initiative within the Department of Psychiatry. She believes that climate change is the greatest threat to health and well-being in contemporary life, and that overproduction of plastics touches on every phase of the climate fight. She lives with her family in New Paltz, New York.
Mike Lilly, Cottonwood Environmental Law Center, Advisory Board Member Mike is a 1978 graduate of the University of Montana School of Law. He began his practice with the Gallatin County Attorney’s Office in the fall of 1978. After working in that office for 3 years he opened his own private practice in Bozeman. Over the next 42 years he has practiced in Bozeman focusing on civil litigation. He is currently senior partner with Berg Lilly Law Firm. He is a member of the Gallatin County Bar Association, the Montana Bar Association, the American College of Trial Lawyers and the National Academy of Distinguished Neutrals. He has served on the Cottonwood Environmental Center’s Advisory Board since 2022.
Isaac Cheek, Cottonwood Environmental Law Center, Grassroots Conservation Coordinator
Isaac joined the team at Cottonwood Environmental Law Center after graduating from the University of Utah with a degree in Political Science and Environmental Studies with an Ecology minor. Isaac’s dissatisfaction with status quo conservation is what led him to Cottonwood. In the office, Isaac wears many hats: researcher, communications specialist, organizer, and lackluster IT guy. Out of the office, Isaac can be found chasing wild trout with a fly rod, climbing in Gallatin Canyon, or running errands around Bozeman on his bike. He is also an Associate Instructor at the University of Utah Honors College, where he teaches students about conservation and land management during a field course in Kenya.
