Response to devastating hurricanes - October 2024

We at Families for a Livable Climate are deeply saddened by the devastation caused by Hurricane Helene and Hurricane Milton. The loss of life, destruction of homes, and displacement of communities are heartbreaking. Our thoughts are with those affected by this natural disaster.

Recognizing that these extreme weather events are becoming increasingly severe due to climate change* is crucial and absolutely should be in the conversation of all related coverage and discussions. The impacts of rising temperatures, sea-level rise, and changing weather patterns are being felt around the world.

To support the victims of the recent hurricanes, we encourage you to:

  • Donate to reputable relief organizations; Hurricane Helene, Hurricane Milton

  • Advocate for climate action: Contact your elected officials and urge them to support policies that address climate change. Join our network for ways to get involved in climate action locally: livableclimate.nationbuilder.com

Together, we can help rebuild communities, support those in need, and address the root causes of climate change.
