A week in community for climate action
Climate Protector Ride, and Climate and Clean Energy Expo
We were thrilled at the community turn out for the Climate Protector Ride last Saturday, September 25! We gathered at Silver Park, and mounted our signs and then took a family friendly ride to join the Climate and Clean Energy Expo at Caras Park. Big thanks for Missoula County Sustainability, Free Cycles, and Pedal Missoula for supporting the ride event!
Between the ride and the expo, we distributed 75 climate action guides and climate protector stickers, signed up new members, and had many in-depth conversations about the importance of systemic change. It felt so great to be out in community (masked and distanced of course).
Global Climate strike with Fridays for Future - Missoula
Yet another young woman is stepping up to lead on climate, and we were really pleased to connect with her last week for the Global Climate Strike. Gabby has been showing up nearly every week at the Griz Statue on UMT’s campus to strike for a livable future. She rallied a nice group for the Sept. 24 strike, and she spoke with conviction about the Fridays for Future demands.
You can follow FFF_Missoula on Instagram, and find them on Facebook. Their next Global Climate Strike event is October 22nd at noon at the Griz statue.
