4 Ways to Take Action Today: Friday, March 6

Did you know that NorthWestern Energy plans to power our children’s futures with fossil fuels, and our elected officials are going along with it? Did you know that Canadian-owned TC Energy is fast tracking construction of the Keystone XL Pipeline through northeastern Montana without all the necessary permits and while litigation continues, threatening our Missouri River, and much more?

Take action! Here are 4 ways you can take action on climate in Montana today:

In GREAT FALLS, join the RALLY TO PROTECT OUR WATERS at 9 A.M. where community members are rallying to demonstrate ongoing public resistance to the Keystone XL pipeline—being fast tracked in northeastern Montana. The US District Court will hear summary judgment arguments today in a lawsuit aimed at the Army Corps of Engineers over its failure to adequately analyze the pipeline’s effects on local waterways, lands, wildlife, and communities along its 1,200-mile route.

In MISSOULA, join the ongoing #CLIMATESTRIKE today from 12-1 at NorthWestern Energy (1903 Russell) and the second location today, almost directly across the street from NorthWestern, at Wells Fargo Bank—one of the big financial supporters of the Keystone XL pipeline to strike in solidarity with water protectors and show our opposition to a project that imperils our land, water, communities and climate.

In MISSOULA, come to FIRST FRIDAY events tonight and join the WATER IS SACRED demonstration, aimed at raising awareness about the Keystone XL pipeline in Montana. 5:30-6:30 p.m. in Caras Park. If you’d like to join in, wear all black!

Sign our PETITION OPPOSING THE KEYSTONE XL PIPELINE! We will deliver to the Governor’s Office and our federal delegation at the end of this month!
