Join Families for a Livable Climate for a Community Climate Conversation on Wednesday, November 20, from 6:30 - 8 p.m. at the Montana State University Extension Building, 119 South 3rd St. in Livingston.
This presentation and storytelling workshop outlines the basic science of climate change and its impacts on Montana, and helps participants explore their personal climate story and how the climate crisis affects their lives already. Participants will leave feeling more confident and clear on how to advocate for their future, and have a story in hand to help make their voices heard.
In an interview last year, atmospheric scientist Kathryn Hayhoe shared the following: Three-quarters of Americans hear about climate change from someone they know only twice every year. She summed up the impact of this silence very clearly: “If we don’t talk about it, we won’t care about it, and we won’t take action.” These Montana Climate Conversations are meant to empower participants to speak about the climate crisis with confidence and compassion, and help Montana families and communities advocate for their future.
This event is free and open to the public, but participants are encouraged to RSVP. RSVP via the Facebook event or via email at livableclimate@gmail.com.
