Action Alert - Save Montana’s Solar for All Program

The EPA is moving to terminate the $7 billion Solar for All program—a critical federal initiative that brings affordable, renewable energy to low- and moderate-income households across the U.S.. Montana is an awardee, and our state’s Solar for All program has been working to expand solar access for low-income, Tribal, and disadvantaged communities through workforce development, technical and financial assistance, and community-driven projects. This program was designed to reduce energy bills, foster job creation, and deliver environmental benefits for thousands of Montana families.

If this program is eliminated, Montana stands to lose millions in direct support for these communities, and our ongoing local projects—and years of planning—will come to a halt. Across the country, Solar for All was projected to help nearly a million disadvantaged households save hundreds of dollars annually on electricity, while also improving grid reliability and expanding much-needed clean energy jobs.

Take Action Now:

Please take 3 minutes to email Governor Gianforte’s office and Montana’s congressional delegation asking them to fight for Montana’s Solar for All program.

The Montana Renewable Energy Association (MREA) will be submitting comments on behalf of the association and informing our installer network. We urge you to add your voice for your organization or as a concerned individual.

Below is a sample email you can use:

I am a Montana resident concerned about jobs and economic development in renewable energy. I heard that EPA is considering canceling agreements already made for Montana's Solar for All Program. This program already has direct impact for Montana's low income families and resilience. Please protect this program and the benefits it brings to Montana. Can we count on your office to reach out to OMB and EPA to let them know that we want to keep this funding in place for Montana jobs?
