Meet our panelists:
Steve Held is a rancher, union actor, and business owner from Broadus, Montana. His daughter Rikki was lead plaintiff in Held v. Montana, the groundbreaking climate case that declared the right under the Montana constitution to a stable climate system and to compel Montana to prepare and implement a remedial plan.
Cole Mannix is the President and Founder of the Old Salt Co-op, a new, purpose-driven company that provides meat raised with integrity from Montana landscapes its customers know and care about.
Cathy Whitlock is an American Earth Scientist and Professor at Montana State University. She is interested in Quaternary environmental change and palaeoclimatology and was a lead author of the 2017 Montana Climate Assessment.
Matt Ferrell is Partnership Coordinator for the Helena-Lewis and Clark National Forest. He holds an MA in Environmental Education from Western Washington University and has worked as an interpretive ranger at Glacier, Yellowstone, and North Cascades National Parks.
This event will be in support of the Held Foundation. The Held Foundation exists to support cowboy culture and the people who live Western values. They present a cowboy of the year award to an individual who is a good neighbor, helps kids, and is a quality person. That person then gives money to an individual or family in need.
