What if your money could help build the climate future you want to see?
Join Families for a Livable Climate and Climate Smart Missoula during Missoula Climate Solutions Week for a conversation about transforming your money as an expression of your values. Featuring sustainability-based investing (SBI) extraordinaires: Keith Fichtner of Edward Jones and FLC volunteer Jackson Crawford. Wednesday, September 30, 12-1pm in the Headwaters Confluence Center.
We know what you are thinking—"I don't have investments!" But we have news for you: You can still make a difference right here in Montana, and the first step is educating yourself about sustainability-based investing and then putting your knowledge into action through advocacy with your employer, friends, family and our business community.
The session will first focus on the evolution and growth of SBI at national and global scales, concluding with Montana-specific data that shows the breadth and scale of the potential for Montanans to make a difference right here within our state. The second part of the session will zero in on how individuals can shift their investments (or help others to do so) and bring them into alignment with their values without sacrificing returns. We'll specifically offer resources for folks with employer-sponsored retirement plans to empower and encourage you to explore your options for SBI with your employer.
Since FLC's local Sustainability-Based Investing initiative began, we've helped families and individuals divest more than $31 million from fossil fuels.
Come learn how your money can become another tool for climate action, and how the collective power of everyday people can help move Montana toward a more livable future.
This session is free and open to the public. No prior knowledge of investing is required.
