Climate Smart Glacier Country is hosting a live video-feed watch party of the Supreme Court oral arguments on the historic Held vs Montana youth climate case in Kalispell at FVCC on Wednesday, July 10. Please join us at 9 a.m. for complimentary continental breakfast and networking in Room 144 A/B of the FVCC Arts and Technology Building. This will be a zero-waste event, so please bring your own coffee mug.
We are especially encouraging youth from Northwest Montana to attend and support their peers who brought this groundbreaking lawsuit, in which a district judge ruled in the favor of Montana youth that the state must take stronger action to avert the climate crisis. State officials have appealed the decision to the Supreme Court. The one-hour oral arguments will be followed by a local discussion about the creation of a Northwest Montana youth climate alliance to build on the momentum of the Held vs. Montana court case.
If you are unable to join us in person, the Supreme Court session can be livestreamed from the lonely comfort of your own home by going to https://courts.mt.gov/courts/supreme/oral_arguments/.
