Join us on Friday, April 14 at 9am in Helena to tell the Public Service Commission (PSC) and NorthWestern Energy that Montana families can’t afford more utility rate hikes which finance dirty energy projects!
NorthWestern Energy has asked the PSC to allow an increase in residential rates by 18% for electric and 11.1% for gas through a formal process called a “rate case.” If the rate hikes are approved, we estimate the average residential customer would face an increase of $283 for gas and electricity annually. The rate case also contains a proposal to approve a methane plant near Laurel, MT. More details about the rate case and public hearings here.
TAKE ACTION today BY signing up to give PUBLIC TESTIMONY IN HELENA (VIRTUALLY OR IN PERSON) APRIL 11 - 14 AT 9AM.
On Friday, April 14, there will be a special day of action at the PSC with groups from around the state showing up to comment, observe the proceedings, and rally in front of the PSC mid day. There is a bus from Missoula leaving at 6:30 a.m. and returning at 3/3:30 p.m., and a bus from Bozeman leaving at 7am and returning at 5pm. Sign up for a spot on the bus HERE.
In person testimony is impactful, and we need people to give comment all week. To sign up, call the PSC at 1–800–646–6150 and ask to give public comment, starting at 9 a.m. (either via Zoom or in person). Tell them you are commenting on Docket 2022.07.078 as an opponent to NWE's proposed rate increases.
We CAN change the outcome of this case if you show up with us!
